Wicklow to Wexford Spring to Autumn

Her are some photos, mainly of nature, all higgeldy-piggeldy, of the sights I've loved while moving through Wicklow and on to Wexford in the summer of 2019.

Wicklow

STAYING IN TINAHELY CO. WICKLOW

Out bungalow in Westmeath has now been sold to a family who I hope will come to love it as much as I did. Our former neighbour's sheep are minding our pasture.

Until we move to a new location - Wexford this time - we stay in Wicklow among the hills.

Connie has adapted well and with sheep at our doorstep, she has behaved very well.
She's been visited by a trio of Wicklow collies from higher up the hill - a posse who go out to work the the sheep often and drop by like a whirlwind on the way. I think they are used to the house here being empty a lot of the time so got a real shock when our bigger bright-eyed bitch trend up in her red tuxedo.

It was unusually mild for February and there was a week of amazing sunshine. March came in like the proverbial Lion - let's hope it goes out like a lamb. At least the wind had stopped howling by now - the day after Patricks Day.

A few pictures taken - mostly of Connie against the scenery. I should use the "proper" camera to get the hilly vistas as they deserve that over the smart phone handy an all though it be.

Super Woof Moon

There was what is called a "Super Woof Moon" two nights ago.
I tried to capture it - but my phone camera didn't get it quite a well as it might - to put it mildly.
I certainly didn't capture the rather menacing appearance of it - at least to me as I suddenly became aware of it apparently rising up big, reddish and bright from behind the hedgerow.

Mine looks like a sliced orange - I should have gone in an taken my digital camera for that photo - in no way did ti reflect he looming nature of what I saw - almost imagined it "said" BOOO. However it was SO cold at the time and Connie had had her evening exercise in the garden. The warmth of the house was too seductive.
There are many good pics of it elsewhere on the net :

January Lakes and Swans

Can still be cold - but many days so far (as of the 8th) very still and not feeling too cold (reading about 10Degrees).

The swans have been noticeably more active than usual - I've seen more flying swans recently than I've seen in the past 14 years>

The lakes look smooth and peaceful these last few days with sun breakthroughs behind the light grey and white clouds.

Lough Ennel in serene mode

Coosan Point also very serene and a favourite swan destination

X-mas through New Years 2019

 A Little Christmas 2018

Had a roast chicken dinner the weekend before Christmas as my daughter was heading for NY and would not be here on the 25th.
I've learned that such pre-christmas celebrations are way more relaxed and happy than actual feast day celebrations

I did not get a tree - well I've no young children in my life at this tie - and these things are mainly for them.

Brought in a potted Chaemyperus which has sat outside since it was little more than a seedling and smothered it in ornaments. Luckily it survived.
Several frequent-flyers also graced the house - ut Im getting more averse to the excess of tinselly things I used to put up with years ago.
Just a few things were honoured with a place on view.

I have zero religion but I love the craft work in this iconorgraphy

Sad looking little tree but in truth, it looked pretty nice when the tree lights were lit and the room lights dimmed.

Har to include one of my favourite teddy - with the hat I knitted for him

Some other things (including a reflection of my good self) in the hall.
I've had this candle for several years - my sister-in-law gave it to me - and I still haven't lit it - it's too nice.

THERE WAS QUITE A LOT OF DRY COLD WEATHER AD A LITTLE RAIN FOLLOWED BY SOME DULL DRIZZLY DAYS TOO (known as "miserable" days ), but the vegetation loved it.

Just an example:
